IRClass and Smart Ship© Hub Introducing EEXI and CII services

Indian Registry of Shipping(IRClass) with its Strategic Partner Smart Ship© Hub is extending enterprise-grade digital dashboard on EEXI, CII, IMO DCS & EU MRV along with performance advisory services.

This marks an important industry milestone for digitalization where the leading classification society has joined hands with a fast-growing maritime tech company that is disrupting the traditional maritime processes. A partnership of strategic importance wherein IRClass is driving multiple digitalization use cases.

WHAT ARE THE EEXI AND CII?

The EEXI is a framework for determining the energy efficiency of in-service vessels over 400 GT that fall under MARPOL Annex VI. The EEXI requires ship operators to assess their ships’ energy consumption and CO2 emissions against specific requirements for energy efficiency for each vessel type. To do this, ship owners may need to implement technical measures to adjust their vessels’ emissions to the required level.

DIGITAL DASHBOARDS FOR EEXI AND CII

Smart Ship Hub enabled “ Smart Vessels” can accurately determine standardized CO2 emissions related to installed engine power, transport capacity and ship speed. Live data parameters telemetered every few seconds from the vessel help calculating vis-a-vis fuel oil consumption, and a conversion factor between fuel and the corresponding CO2 mass.

Smart Ship Hub platform continuously tracks all kind of emissions from the vessel. Live parameters enable dynamic prognosis w.r.t ratio of the total mass of CO2 emitted to the total transport work undertaken in a given calendar year. IRClass together with Smart Ship Hub will help you with advisory on “ required reductions” for each ship type , ensuring global shipping targets are achieved as per IMO’s intended targets.

Smart Ship enables actionable intelligence through live situational awareness & predictive diagnostics. The platform enables a complete range of remote technical & operational management through live machinery data, video feeds, images, together with historical & process data offering its ready-to-deploy platform for owners, operators, charter parties, Insurers:  enabling them with data-driven insights.

The Remote Monitoring Dashboard act as a virtual replica of the vessels for the fleet manager or superintendent with critical fleet tracking statistics, including weather, equipment(ME, AE, DG, Boilers, Scrubbers), fuel monitoring, carbon intensity indicator (CII) monitoring, route optimization, generating easy-to-view dynamic charts, on-demand analytics and more through the IRS Smart Ship© Hub platform.

Vessels will have to demonstrate compliance by the annual, intermediate or renewal IAPP survey whichever comes first on or after 1 January 2023, by preparing a comprehensive EEXI Technical File including calculations on attained EEXI which must be equal to or less than the required EEXI value set for that specific ship type and size as outlined by IMO. IRClass’s web-based tool for calculation of EEXI, evaluation for compliance and preparation of EEXI Technical File in the required format, etc. will be available on the existing web-based platform for SEEMP, Data collection and reporting.

IRS Smart Ship© Hub platform is a customizable fleet management platform that impeccably integrates data from vessels ECR, Bridge and Cargo control room to provide real-time insights for driving sustainable operations and reducing operational risks. The Digital platform nurtures an ecosystem of industry-trusted intelligence and technology providers enabling integrated insights for clients on one unified platform.

We are proud to be the pioneer in our industry to bring a digital solution to the global maritime ecosystem. As a shared solution for ship-owners, ship managers, and charterers, this will allow us to provide actionable insights for each stakeholder regarding which vessels from the fleet need their attention and why in a fast, helpful manner. Morning meetings can be made simple and backed by real-time data, questions framed in such meetings can be simple as; which vessels are not meeting charter party requirements or EEOI targets or have non-functioning critical equipment or where to bunker for the lowest fuel cost. There are a lot of possibilities. With this strategic partnership continue building on its commitment to deliver cutting-edge insights and an unparalleled user experience of managing fleet
